Swimming pool
We went to a swimming pool and Nicolas saw all the big boys doing flips and all sorts of tricks which of coarse he had to mimic right away. So he started with twisting and moved onto front flips and he did it on the first try! Amelia watched him then decided to give it a try which she also completed on the first try. Sara stuck to jumping feet first off the board. (Safer) Colby hung out with uncle Shane in the hot tub with the cute girls. (Smarter)
Nicolas turns 6!
Nicolas had a birthday in July and turned 6. It was an even birthday so Nic was able to have a friend party and he wanted an army party. So we invited his friends to boot camp. They had to finish an obstacle coarse and find injured solders which they received a purple heart. Then they bombed enemy tanks, had cake and ice cream rations. Then we moved on to a silly streamer fight and ended with presents. It was a really fun party. Oh ya we also had a pinata. Nicolas pretty much celebrated all week with his party and a movie on his real bday and then family and friends kept bringing over presents. It seemed to never end. What a spoiled boy!

American Fork Steel Days Parade
The American Fork High School Cavettes danced in the AF city parade and my friends daughter is on the cavette team so she asked if Sara would hold the sign with her sister. Sara held the sign last year and had so much fun even through the hot weather and long parade route. So of course she wanted to do it again this year. Sara had so much fun this year and she even threw out some t-shirts to some of her school friends she saw.
Yellowstone
Our family went on a family vacation to Yellowstone National Park. We went the 3rd week in June. It was a little cold but not so bad and thankfully it didn't snow until the morning we went home. The kids had a ton of fun. We were able to see a Bald Eagle in its nest right next to the road. Our truck was also chased by a Buffalo! It seriously chased us down the road, I didn't think it would actually hit us but the park ranger said that cars get hit by Buffalo all the time, so most likely if we didn't run he would have left 2 holes in Jared's truck. Old Faithful was a favorite of my kids. It was fun to see. We also went to a live Bear and Wolf museum, where the kids were able to hide food in the Bear cage then watch the Bears released to find the food and eat it. We had a great time seeing the mud pots, water fall and the many animals, SO glad we were able to go!
